QUESTION (Q): What makes Manitoba a great fit for your company?
ANSWER (A): Manitoba represents a compelling opportunity for 1911 Gold, combining strong geological potential with a stable and supportive operating environment. Our 62,000-hectare land package in the Rice Lake greenstone belt shares key characteristics with prolific districts like Red Lake, Ontario, yet remains significantly underexplored in comparison.

The province offers clear advantages for advancing our mining operations, specifically low-cost hydroelectric (green) power, excellent infrastructure, a skilled local workforce, and a large supplier network. These factors are instrumental as we move toward restarting mining operations over the coming year. Our goal is to balance the near-term production opportunity with the long-term pursuit of new discoveries, contributing to the economic growth of the region and the province.

Q: What’s something surprising people may not know about your company?
A: Our company’s name is a tribute to the moment Manitoba’s gold history began. In 1911, Duncan Twohearts, a trapper from Sagkeeng First Nation, discovered a quartz outcrop along the north shore of Rice Lake, and carried a sample out in a piece of blue denim. This would mark the first significant gold discovery in Manitoba which led to the development of the True North Gold Deposit. Our name is meant to honour this moment and the people who first recognized the potential of this district. More than a century later, that same spirit of discovery and respect continues to guide everything we do.

Q: Do you have any recent projects, innovations, or achievements you’re especially proud of?
A: Over the past year, we have made significant progress toward restarting mining operations at the True North complex. A key milestone was the successful re-entry of the underground mine in 2025, followed by the mobilization of underground drills and, more recently, regaining access to Level 26, over 1 kilometre down. In parallel with this operational progress, our surface drill program has discovered three new near-mine targets with the potential to add meaningful resource growth and long-term production. These efforts contributed to our recent recognition as a 2026 TSX Venture 50 company. Perhaps most importantly, we have built strong ties with our local partner communities. The sense of solidarity we experienced while working alongside our neighbours through the wildfire season of 2025 has been a defining moment for the Company, reinforcing our commitment to being a responsible and integrated partner in the region.

Q: What inspired you to join MAMI?
A: Knowing that MAMI has been the backbone of the Manitoba mining industry for over 80 years, we joined to both learn from and contribute to the deep collective expertise within this organization. The amalgamation with The Mines Accident Prevention Association of Manitoba aligns perfectly with our ‘Safety-First’ culture, ensuring that as we move towards restarting our operations and pursuing new discoveries, we do so with the highest standards for our people and the environment.

Q: Share a short quote that captures your company spirit.
A: Built on a foundation of historical discovery and regional partnership, we are committed to a sustainable and productive future for the Rice Lake district.
