National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

NDTR 2025

Four years ago, Canada observed the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation – a day to honour Indigenous children sent to residential schools, those who never made it home and the survivors, their families and communities.

In Manitoba, September 30 is recognized as Orange Shirt Day. All three major operating mines in the province mark the occasion by organizing events, providing resources to employees, and in engaging in community activities.

The Mining Association of Manitoba Inc., is headquartered on Treaty 1 and we acknowledge that our members operate on Treaty territories within the Province of Manitoba and the unceded lands of the Dakota, the traditional territories of Anishinaabe, Cree, OjiCree and Dene peoples and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
