Another successful year for the Manitoba Provincial Mine Rescue Competition (MPMRC), thanks in part to the generosity of all its sponsors. This year’s event was held in Thompson, Manitoba and hosted by MAMI and Vale Base Metals.
The MPMRC is in its 6th decade of testing the skills and expertise of rescue teams, and saw more than 30 elite mine rescue personnel going head-to-head to determine the best in the province. Team Vale took top spot, followed by Team Mutual Aid.
Sponsorship is vital for this event, and 34 companies came forward with either in-kind or financial contributions. Both MAMI and Vale appreciates everyone who partnered with the competition, their support illustrating they value and recognize the important role these workers play in ensuring the safety of all.
Next year’s event takes place May 22 & 23 in Snow Lake, Manitoba, hosted by Hudbay Minerals.
