Q: Do you have any recent projects, innovations, or achievements you’re especially proud of?
A: Miller took on the project of a comprehensive remediation and demolition of a decommissioned grain elevator in Winnipeg, listed as a contaminated, which had deteriorated and attracted trespassers. Environmental assessments found widespread arsenic contamination and a water-filled basement with deteriorating structures, presenting additional risks. The owner needed a solution meeting environmental compliance and regulatory standards for future development. Various strategies were considered; however, in situ arsenic stabilization was deemed risky and unproven. Miller Environmental’s approach offered full excavation, transport, and treatment through its own licensed facility, ensuring regulatory compliance and single-point accountability throughout the project.
