Underground Equipment Fueling

Some things to consider before beginning the process of refueling equipment are: Clear walking paths, ventilation, and housekeeping.

Once the workplace has been deemed safe to enter bring the equipment into fuel bay and safely position the machine. Set the park brake and allow the engine to idle down before shutting it off. Exit the vehicle using 4-point dismount, secure vehicle using wheel chocks then turn off the master switch. Choose appropriate fuel hose and inspect for damage. Insert/attach fuel hose to fuel tank, turn on pump, make sure to remain at the fuel nozzle while fuel is being dispensed. Do not complete any inspections or housekeeping while fuel is being pumped. When the fuel tank is full turn off pump and return the nozzle to the holder.
